In class, the children had to identify where they were going for their mystery holiday. The children had to use picture clues to find out where they were heading. They time travelled back to the Iron Age near France, Spain and Germany where the Celts had settled. The children then completed an outdoor activity where they had to create a human timeline of historical periods and events. This gave the children the chance to activate their prior learning and tell us all about periods that they had previously learnt. We focused on the terminology CE and BCE also known as BC and AD. The children worked fantastically in their groups and impressed us with their resilience and independence. A great start to our new unit.
