They have learnt about Hitler’s desire to make Germany great again after the consequences faced following World War One by quickly beginning to rearm Germany and to seize land from other countries which in turn led to the outbreak of war.  They can confidently recall both the Allies and Axis powers and have been working diligently using an atlas to find these countries.

It has been wonderful to see such enthusiasm as the children share their prior knowledge and ask thought-provoking questions to deepen their understanding.
