Environmentalists, broadcasters and trail blazers.

As a part of our immersive curriculum, year 5 have been looking at two of the key figures in wildlife preservation.

You have most probably heard of these names; Dame Jane Goodall and Sir David Attenborough but did you know that they have both made it their lives missions to educate others about our planet, the ecosystem and the wildlife within?

The year 5 children have been reading the Little People, Big Dreams books about both Sir David and Dame Jane in their guided reading lessons as well as conducting their own research about these two figureheads. In English, the children are learning how to write a biography with the classroom model based on Sir David Attenborough and their independent writing based on Dame Jane Goodall.

In the coming weeks, the children will use all of their knowledge to produce a fantastic piece of writing about Dame Jane's life and achievements as well as link these to our theme work on Vanishing rainforests and plastic pollution.

Please do ask your children for their favourite facts about our two key environmentalists!
