Our autumn 1 games topic in year 5 is tennis. The children have been enjoying learning new skills that build on skills they have learnt previously,such as throwing and catching,  and applying them in their lessons. The children started with an “egg and spoon” style race in their teams to focus on racket control and manoeuvrability and moved on to bouncing the ball and having a go at hitting it to their partner. Their hand-eye coordination skills are really improving, and we look forward to watching them progress their skills further over the next few weeks.
