Exciting Samba Rhythms!

Year 6 took part in their South America Samba Drumming workshop this week!

Each class had the opportunity to learn about the different instruments used in a samba band, including: Tamborims, Snare drums, Agogo bells and Ganzas (shakers). Everyone got to play an instrument and perform a piece of music. There was a lot of discussion about Brazil (as this is where many of the carnivals take place) and the Amazon Rainforest - it was brilliant to hear the children sharing their topic knowledge from this term such as the climate of Brazil and the creatures that live in the Amazon. At the end of the day, each class performed their pieces in front of the year group and they were amazing!
