A week of fun!
The year 6 children have really been able to let their hair down and enjoy some downtime this week.
While some of our children have been visiting their new secondary schools this week for transition days, in school there have been plenty of opportunities to spend time outside and have a lot of fun. While the rest of the school were meeting their new classes and teachers on Monday, Mr Williams, Miss O'Connor, Mr Carter and Mr Hodgson organised a house sports event which involved cricket and kick rounders. On Wednesday, the treat day began with a breakfast in the hall followed by packed timetable of activities which we persevered with despite the disappointing weather. The drizzle did not dampen the atmosphere however, and there was Zorb football, Nerf Tag, an inflatable assault course, Go Karts and Soft Archery. At lunchtime, the children enjoyed pizza and snacks whilst watching a film.
To finish off the week, all four classes have visited CMK Library for a morning of book hunting and book bingo. It was great to meet Karen, the children's librarian and listen to her enthusiasm for sharing the huge range of books available. We were very proud of the children's behaviour on the walk there and back and also whilst in the library building. Well done year 6!
