Showcasing our artwork this week
This week, our Year 4 blog is featuring our art skills.
The classes have been studying coins, in particular the profile portraits which appear on them. Over the fortnight, the children will create their own relief coins (complete with portrait in profile) out of clay. This week, they have been looking at the texture of the coins using a pencil rubbing technique; they have learned about the structure of a profile portrait focusing on proportion of facial features and blocking the shape using geometric shapes to help them and then they drafted their own coin to be created in clay next week!
We're so looking forward to seeing our new Loughton currency!
In other news, we have taken part in a TT Rockstar challenge. The children have been working in the classroom as well as at home to build a great score for our classes and our school. Well done Year 4, the next 'Battle of the Bands' is just round the corner so keep practising your speed and multiplication agility!
