Celebrating our year 4 violinists
We were very excited this week to be treated to a special assembly by some of our year 4 musicians.
The year 4 staff and children were invited to the hall on Tuesday morning this week by Helen Day, our peripatetic violin teacher who had organised a short concert for us. Fourteen of our children, who learn the violin and have weekly lessons, played a selection of short pieces. The concert started with a piece which showed off the pizzicato (plucking) and every player took part. Afterwards, the children played in their different groups and confidently showed off their rhythm, listening skills and technique - with open strings and using fingering too. We were all so impressed by their musicianship and it was lovely to see so many children taking part and not showing their nerves at all.
Well done all of you!
