As part of this term's learning about Italy, we arranged for our school catering team to demonstrate the making of pizza dough and a tomato sauce in preparation for the children making their own pizzas in a couple of weeks' time as part of their enterprise learning. Gary explained how the flour reacts with the yeast and demonstrated kneading the dough. Mel talked about what ingredients make a delicious and healthy sauce using fresh ingredients. The children loved this practical learning and especially the tasty pizza samples which we were treated to later on!

Over the next days, each class will be thinking about how they can make their pizzas unique and how we can make sure that we can make a profit from selling them to benefit the whole year group.
