All things India.

Indian Market & Bollywood Dancing
On Wednesday and Thursday 5th & 6th of March, year 4 were treated to all things Indian as part of their immersive learning.
Wednesday morning during English, the children experienced the sights, sounds, smells and feelings of what it would be like to visit an Indian Market. The shared area was decked out in an array of Indian objects. Colourful Saris, Indian jewellery, deeva lamps, Hindu artefacts and spices galore were laid out in makeshift market stalls. The children went around and used this as inspiration for their postcards home. We cannot wait to read their imaginative descriptions of the things they saw.
Then on Thursday we were visited by Nisha, our dance instructor, who taught each class a different Bollywood style dance. Bags of enthusiasm and lots of rythmn were on display. The children loved the experience and got the opportunity to perform their creations at the end of the afternoon to the other groups. Lots of fun was had by all!
