In our PSHE lessons last week and this week, year 5 celebrated remembrance and showed our respect to those that fought and lost their lives in war by creating black – out poems. We based these on the poem In Flanders Fields by John McCrae. We read the poem through together and then chose specific words from the original poem in order to create our own poems. We then blacked out the rest of the words through our decoration so that the words that we wanted to choose stood out.
