Year six have had a great start to the spring term.
Our Christmas film night was a great success!
Year six have an excellent understading of evacuation in World War Two.
JJ Arcanjo is a half-Portuguese, half-English writer who grew up between the Algarve and Devon. However, this week, he was in rainy Milton Keynes visiting year 5 and 6 to tell the children all about being an author.
This week, the whole of year 6, they had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a workshop where they learnt all about pneumatics.
This week year 6 have had lots of fun making bread pudding by following Mrs Solloway’s aunt’s recipe.
Year 6 Bletchley Park Trip
This week, year 6 have been completing some science experiments in the classroom. They have been focusing on our electricity topic and building some circuits. The various circuits that the children have been creating have raised questions such as: what would happen if we used a battery with a higher voltage? All the year 6 classes have had a fantastic time learning the symbols for circuit building and working in table groups.
Year six thoroughly enjoyed the 'Turn Back Time' dance workshop.
What a jam-packed week we have had in year 6!
For the last couple of weeks, year 6 have been reading and studying biographies of famous people (eg: Roald Dahl, Usain Bolt, Marcus Rashford). We have been looking at the features of the text type, the kind of life story content included and how it is structured.
