'Shining a light' on our learning this week!
What a jam-packed week we have had in year 6!
After working hard to complete their mock SATs during the morning sessions, the children have been given the opportunity to work in small groups to plan and construct their own working lighthouses. This ties in nicely with our current class reader: Letters from the Lighthouse. It was lovely seeing the children working collaboratively and fully engaged in the task.
The children also enjoyed celebrating National Poetry Day in which they looked at a range of poetry styles (for example: acrostic, sense poems and riddles) before using their imagination to create their own poem based on a theme of their choice. Please take a look and enjoy the selection posted below – a big thank you to Riyansh, Alessia, Noora and Ben.
