Pneumatics

This week, the whole of year 6, they had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a workshop where they learnt all about pneumatics.

The company SMC were very kind to supply us with this workshop to help bump start our pneumatics learning which is starting next week. The children learnt that pneumatics are a way of powering machinery through the use of pressurised air. They had the opportunity to move along on machinery that would be used on a production line, observe a picking and packing machine, use air to raise their peers on a platform and use robotic arms to try and pick up various objects. This has been a great learning process for them and a fantastic way to get the children excited about pneumatics and possibly a future interest in engineering! Please ask your children about their exciting day and what they learnt.
