Evacuation Information
Year six have an excellent understading of evacuation in World War Two.
Year six have been continuing on with their World War Two topic with a focus on evacuation. Through our immersive curriculum, the children have been learning about evacuation in their theme lessons, writing and reading sessions. We have analysed this time in history by considering the positives and negatives of evacuation from London into the country through primary sources such as interviews, propaganda adverts and some children even brought in items such as ration books. We learnt about evacuation from a kinder transport perspective and explored England's role in the evacuation of Jewish children from Central Europe. The children showcased their learning by creating engaging and informative posters. We were very impressed by their excellent knowledge and artistic skills.
