General Election Day 🇬🇧

Today, polling stations are open for the country to cast its vote for our next government and Prime Minister.

In year 3 this afternoon we have been learning about democracy. The children looked at what an election was and read through the main parties manifestos. We then debated which manifestos aligned with our own beliefs.

We held our own year group election where the children got the chance to vote for the party they thought should be elected. None of the adults shared their own political beliefs. Politics can be a very sensitive and personal topic, but we were so proud of how the children used their voices with sensitivity to the opinions of others.

Our year group results showed that the Green Party had the majority vote overall. We wonder how similar this will be to the results in our area and across the country after today.
