Year 3 Gets Crafty: Felt Bookmark Bonanza!
Well done to all the children who have completed their Autumn 1 homework. We are so pleased with how hard all the children have worked and amazed by the fantastic pieces of work that they have created! Many children have created an interesting poster of a country of their choice. Mrs Newman personally enjoyed reading about Sri Lanka! One child went above and beyond and made her very own 3D rabbit accompanied by rabbit facts. We have also received evidence of the ‘activity passport’ tasks completed by the children.
What an amazing start the year 3 children have made. You have exceeded our expectations! Well done to you all for such outstanding pieces of work!
Year 3 have been learning about healthy eating.

Exploring skeletons in science lessons.
The first week back at school has been nothing short of exhilarating! Our ‘Take One Book Week’ has ignited a passion for reading across the year group. In HB1, the children were inspired by the whimsical tale of Simon Sock by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet, while in HB2, Invisible by Tom Percival captured the imaginations of our eager readers. HB3 were captivated by The Comet by Joe Todd-Stanton and in HB4, the children dived into the intriguing narrative of The Bridges, also penned by Tom Percival.
Beyond books, the children have begun the academic year immersing themselves in the world of Amazing Animals. During writing lessons, Peter Rabbit brought joy and creativity to their stories, while guided reading sessions with Roald Dahl's The Enormous Crocodile provided plenty of laughs and learning opportunities. In science, they eagerly examined the topic of animals, including humans, reinforcing their connections with the natural world.
It has been heartening to see the children settling in so well, embracing their learning journey with heaps of enthusiasm. Here's to an exciting year ahead filled with discovery and joy in our classrooms!
