Year 3 Students Dive into Practical Maths: Estimating and Measuring Mass.
We are thrilled to announce that our children have been working incredibly hard in preparation for our upcoming school play, Sherlock and Cinders. This fun and imaginative production is a unique twist on two classic stories, combining the mystery of Sherlock Holmes with the magic of Cinderella.
This week Year 3 have been to visit the Tower of London!
Children in year 3 took part in a variety of activities during science day.
This term, we are focusing on helping the children improve and develop their spelling skills. On our Padlet page, you can find a list of the spelling words that the children are working on. We would love for you to support your child in practising these words at home.
Over the past few weeks, Year 3 have begun rehearsing for our upcoming production of Sherlock and Cinders. All of the actors have been busy learning lines with Mr Whyman and Mrs Holliday and a group of dancers have just started work with Mrs Newman. In our music lessons, we have all been learning the songs and getting to know the story. They have all worked so hard so far. It is looking and sounding fantastic already!
We hope your excited for the performances just before easter!
Solving division problems.....the fun way!
We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable break! The children have returned to school full of excitement and eager to dive back into learning. This week, we kicked off our writing activities with a fun project inspired by the book George and the Dragon by Chris Wormell. One of the highlights was designing their very own dragons. The children had a blast drawing their creations and explaining their dragon’s unique powers.
In addition to this, we’re also reading The Boy Who Grew Dragons, adding another layer to our dragon-themed term. It’s clear that this term is all about exploring these mythical dragons and we’re thrilled to see the children’s’ imaginations soar!
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our dragon adventures in the classroom!
Year 3’s Amazing Animals Project
This term, Year 3 students have been exploring the fascinating world of Amazing Animals. Each class focused on a different continent, learning about the unique animals that call these places home. As part of their homework, the children were tasked with completing a project that explored their continent and the animals found there.
The results have been truly impressive! Students showcased their creativity with 3D models of continents and animals, recreations of artworks, and detailed model habitats. This week, the children had the opportunity to walk around and admire each other's hard work, and it was incredible to see how much effort and imagination went into every project.
Well done, Year 3! Your creativity and enthusiasm have shone through, and we are all so proud of your achievements.
