Dance Workshop

Year 3 children had the incredible opportunity to take part in a fun-filled and energising dance workshop! Each class embraced a different style of dance, and it was wonderful to see our young dancers step out of their comfort zones, try new things and, most importantly, have a blast! This workshop wasn’t just about learning steps – it was about creativity, self-expression and teamwork.

HB1: Hip Hop – The Beat of the Streets

In HB1, the children were introduced to the world of Hip Hop. Known for its energetic, expressive movements and creative choreography, Hip Hop gave the children a chance to explore rhythm and self-expression. From sharp, synchronised steps to freestyle flows, the children embraced the music and had an amazing time mastering this exciting genre. The smiles on their faces said it all—Hip Hop was a hit!

HB2: Street Dance – Moving to the Rhythm

HB2 embraced the world of Street Dance, a dynamic and inclusive style that draws inspiration from urban culture. The children learnt a variety of street dance moves that focused on individuality, confidence, and rhythm. There was no shortage of energy as the children worked on their footwork, spins, and body isolations. Each child brought their own style to the dance, and it was a joy to see them embrace this form of self-expression while working together as a team.

HB3: Disco – Funky Moves from the 70s

HB3 took a step back in time to the disco era, learning moves from the vibrant and groovy world of 70s dance floors. Students had a blast learning classic disco steps like the hustle, the bump, and the moonwalk. With up-beat music filling the room, the children twirled and grooved, adding their own flair to the iconic moves. It was a session filled with fun, high energy and plenty of funky footwork!

HB4: Rock 'N' Roll – Swinging to the Beat

In HB4, the children learnt the fast-paced, exciting steps of Rock 'N' Roll. This classic dance style had them mastering spins, quick footwork and partnered routines. The children quickly caught on to the rhythm and it was clear they were having a blast, swinging to the beat. The fast-paced, lively nature of Rock 'N' Roll made for a fantastic and fun session, with plenty of laughs and energetic moves!

A Grand Finale: Dance Showcase

At the end of the workshop, all of Year 3 came together for a grand finale, showcasing the dances they had learnt throughout the day. Each class performed their routines with confidence and enthusiasm, and the energy was truly contagious. It was an inspiring moment to witness the children supporting each other and sharing the fruits of their hard work with their peers. From Hip Hop to Rock 'N' Roll, each style shone through in the performances! We are incredibly proud of how each child embraced the challenge and fun of learning new dances.

A big thank you to the children for their enthusiasm, and to the instructor, Anna, who made the day such a success.
