World Book Day
We had an amazing time exploring vocabulary, thinking about the wonder of words and sharing a love of reading for today's World Book Day 25 year celebration.

Please enjoy watching the beautiful singing:
We took the opportunity during the last academic year throughout the library's long closure (due to Covid-19) to renovate this space making it colourful, inviting and comfortable in order for our children to enjoy using the space each week in their library sessions and to promote a snuggly space to read for pleasure.
The children have once again worked really hard on their Christmas window displays. Our chair of governors, Sandy Blackledge, is voting for the ‘top 3’ windows on Tuesday morning at a walk around.
The Giving tree was once again beautifully decorated by the children in 6X. The children even enjoyed learning some cleaning skills afterwards by using the hoover!
On Friday 26th November, two children from each class across the school took part in Christingle making with Miss Hawkes. They learnt what a Christingle is and what each of the elements represents. Each child who attended was able to create their own Christingle using: an orange (the world); cocktail sticks (the four seasons); a candle (Jesus’s light); sweets (God’s creations) and red tape (the love and blood of Christ).
On 14th and 15th October, years 5 and 6 had a sports activity morning provided by 'Let's Leap Sports Academy' and the sessions certainly did not disapppoint.
This week's celebration assembly focused on some wonderful writing which has been produced already this year.
These pieces of work have been proudly displayed in our writing corridor and of course, house points were also awarded. There will be a wonderful writing celebration assembly every half term and we are looking forward to the next one!
