Christingle making
Last week, a representative from each class was chosen to make a class Christingle proceeding the Christingle assembly on Monday.
Mrs Murray explained the origin of Christingle and what each part represented before the children began making their own. Threading sweets on to the cocktail sticks was the most challenging part.
They all enjoyed themselves, especially those who ate a few sweets in the process!
Mrs Murray would like to thank all the children for their contributions as well as the Watling Valley Group for supplying us with some of the materials to make them.
Year 3: Jazlin, Emily, Aurva and Lilly
Year 4: Riley, Liam, Halley and Lily May
Year 5: Veronica, George, Tia and Austin
Year 6: Ottie, Kavinesh, Remik and Scout
On Monday morning, the children enjoyed a very special Christingle Service, lead by Mike. Mike visited us to tell us all about why the Christingle is a symbol of not just Christmas, but the whole of the Christian faith. The children sang a Christmas favourite, Away in a Manger, whilst the candles were lit. It was a wonderful way to start the seasonal festivities at school.
