Spring 2 - Writing Celebration Assembly
We sadly ran out of time at the end of last term to celebrate our school writers so I was really pleased to be able to kick off this term with a really happy assembly to put a smile on the children's faces.
The year 3 and 4 children waited with anticipation to see who had been chosen by their class teachers to have their work hung in our writing corridor outside the hall. The effort which had gone into their pieces of work, along with the lovely presentation and imaginative ideas, was impressive. It was wonderful to see the pride on their faces as they were applauded by their peers. Even though Tahani was swimming during the assembly, she received a huge round of applause and her writing has been displayed alongside the others. We also celebrated a wonderful story which had been written by Asiya in HB7 which was inspired by the reading of "The Girl who stole an Elephant". I look forward to hearing more about "The Girl who stole the Internet"!
In the year 5 and 6 assembly which followed, we were treated to some super creativity from all the children chosen. I was thrilled to see how proud the children were and their beaming smiles were a joy to see.
We are so proud of the progress our pupils are making with their independent creative writing. It is clear that they are working hard to achieve the targets that their teachers are setting them and being inspired by the topics they are writing about. We can't wait to see what they produce this term.
Well done to
